Continuing enthusiasm: Go interactive activity held beyond Asian Para Games

Go interactive activity after the competitions at the 4th Asian Para Games was held on the sixth floor of Hangzhou Kaiyuan Building on October 27. You Liang, vice chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and Ddeputy chef de mission of China's Team, was present and announced the start of the interactive activity. Cheng Caibo, executive member of the Chinese Weiqi Association and competition manager (chief referee) of Hangzhou Asian Para Games read out a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Chinese Weiqi Association. Zhu Qinan, director of Sports Department of the Hangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee (HAPGOC) and winner of the Olympic Champion delivered a speech. Athletes from the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Thailand, China and 100 people with impairments and young Go enthusiasts attended this activity together.

The event is hosted by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, supported by the HAPGOC and Chinese Weiqi Association, and organized by Hangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation, Hangzhou Branch of China Go Yuan and Hangzhou Yanglinzi School. It aims to implement the important instructions of Chinese President Xi Jinping. "Through the cultivation of eminent events such as Hangzhou Asian Games, Hangzhou Asian Para Games, and the World Internet Conference, we aim to magnify cultural dialogues, enhance the charm of Chinese culture, and augment the influence of our ancient civilization. With earnest vigor, we're promoting Hangzhou Asian Para Games as a platform to showcase the richness of the Chinese culture, nurture camaraderie amongst participants, and extend the reach of international sports diplomacy for individuals with impairments."

At the event, Xie Haitao, silver medalist of Men's Go at Asian Para Games, played with folk player Fang Dong and had a live broadcast online, commentated by the women's national champion, Gao Xing. The players of each team interacted with people with impairments and young Go fans. Participators and fans also play Go with the robots. Through the promotion of Go for people with impairments, the event creates opportunities for people with impairments and young Go fans to experience Asian Para Games and will encourage more people with impairments to change their lifestyle through sports.
